Leopard print has definitely got to be one of my all time favorite animal prints. Zebra may come in and out of style, giraffe may have its moment; but leopard is classic. This predator print has been used since the cavemen days, and it shows no signs of ever being out of fashion. The lovely thing about leopard is that it's actually a neutral! You can pair it with just about any color, and it will look great. I have a particular fondness for leopard and electric blue together. The key is not to overdo it. You shouldn't wear more than one leopard piece at a time. And don't go crazy and wear a bunch of jungle inspired jewelry with it as well. You're dressing up, not wearing a costume! I actually met a wealthy elderly woman who was dressed in a skin tight, all leopard outfit, red lipstick, and all kinds of diamond encrusted jungle cat jewelry. She was a lovely woman, but I must admit I found her outfit a bit distracting. I loved that she was so brave, but I was also unsure if perhaps her style muscle had atrophied. I won't find out until I'm older, I suppose.
What exactly is it that happens to us anyway? Do we become so confident and stubborn about what we want to wear that we cast aside all possible judgement and brazenly walk out the door in whatever we feel like , or are our faculties compromised with the weight of age?

  1. That skirt is super cute. When I get old I just want to give up caring about what others think. We spend too much time worrying how others will perceive us. It shouldn't be about what we are wearing, but it is. I already plan on dying my hair every color of the rainbow since my hair will be white and I can skip over the bleaching process :]

    1. thanks! we didn't find her owners, but I think we might have found her a home. We're taking her to my boyfriend's grandmother's neighbor to see if he likes her enough to keep her. If not, we'll have to take her to the humane society :[

  3. You look so pretty. :)
I always stand in wonder and amazement and what some of the folks around here wear. I wish I had that courage, although I agree that sometimes it can be distracting.

  4. I also have a soft spot for most animal prints :) Love your outfit!

I really admire older women who are gutsy enough to wear the things they wear. I remember when I was working in a retailer in college, there was an elderly lady who would come in donned in club attire. I don't think I could be that bold even now!
